About this aesthetic

A soft, intellectual aesthetic rooted in old books, autumn light, and romantic vintage silhouettes. Think poet-sleeve blouses, long wool coats, velvet midi dresses, and earth-tone layering. Related to Dark Academia but warmer; related to Cottagecore but more literary and less pastoral.

Poetcore emerged from Tumblr and early TikTok as a softer, more romantic counterpart to Dark Academia. It draws on Victorian and Edwardian dress, pre-Raphaelite imagery, and the visual language of 19th-century literature.
